1992 Construction of the Lynne Quayle Aged Care Hostel, 18 hostel
beds, $500,000.

1994 Hospital initiative to establish ownership of its own medical
practice/clinic at a cost of $53,000 (a strategy for the recruitment of
medical practitioners).
1995 Hospital receives full (three-year) accreditation award.
1995 Construction of Fitzroy Lodge Hostel, 10 dementia-specific beds,
$500,000.



1995 Redevelopment of nursing home Ward 4 and 5, $45,000.
1996 Commonwealth nursing home beds increased from four registered
beds to the present 12.
1996 Construction of new nursing home day room and associated ward
works, total cost $130,000.
1996 Recruitment of second full-time medical service for Heywood.
1996 Commencement of full-time (24-hour, seven-day) accident and
stabilisation service from 1 August 1996.
1996 Hospital expresses interest in the Victorian Government’s
Healthstreams Program.
1997 Hospital community (RSL) bus project commences.
1997 Hospital recommences Primary Care Service at 28 Hunter Street.
1997 Hospital wins local government Meals on Wheels tender (a threeyear
contract).
1998 Hospital formally enters the Victorian Government’s Healthstreams
Program, allowing for the partial transition to community-based
services.
1999 Hospital relocates its medical clinic from Shop 3–4, 50 Edgar
Street to the Sibley Wing as part of Healthstreams.
1999 State Government of Victoria announces the allocation of $3.3
million to fund the construction of a single-roof complex housing all
acute and aged care beds.
2000 Hospital wins three-year renewal of local government Meals on
Wheels contract.
2000 The Victorian Government announces the allocation of a further $1.3 million for the construction of the Healthstreams single-roof complex
2000 Dr Frank Fox commences medical practice in June 2000.
2000 The Sydney–Lynne Quayle and Fitzroy Lodge Hostels undergo the
Commonwealth Aged Care Accreditation process, receiving a full
three-year accreditation award to July 2003.
2000 Hospital commences a $5.3 million redevelopment building project
which will provide for a single-roof bed-based complex.

2001 May 2001 – Heywood Nursing Home undergoes the
Commonwealth Aged Care Accreditation process receiving a full
three-year accreditation award to May 2004.
2002 The hospital concludes its $5.3 million dollar capital works program
in December 2001.
2002 The hospital wins the third three-year round of the local
government Meals on Wheels contract.
2003 May 2003 – The Sydney–Lynne Quayle and Fitzroy Lodge Hostels
undergo the second round of the Aged Care Accreditation Survey
and are reaccredited to August 2006.
2004 August 2003 – Heywood Rural Health undergoes the full
Australian Council on Health Care Services Accreditation Survey,
resulting in ACHS accreditation for the period 26 August 2003 to
26 November 2005.
2004 Heywood Nursing Home undergoes its third round of Aged Care
Accreditation surveys, resulting in full accreditation from 18 June
2004 to 18 June 2007.
2005 Heywood Rural Health undergoes a full (two-day) Survey by the
Australian Council on Healthcare Standards, resulting in a further
accreditation for the period 24.08.2005 to 13.12.2007.
2006 The Sydney–Lynne Quayle Hostel re-accredited by the Aged Care
Standards Agency (August 2006 to August 2009) following a
survey conducted in June 2006.
